The Ooty Short Film Festival (OSFF) offers an immersive, 30-day internship program designed for students, fresh graduates, and film enthusiasts eager to gain hands-on experience in the film festival industry. This program provides the opportunity to work across various festival departments, helping you build skills in event management, film programming, marketing, and guest relations.

Key Areas of Learning

During the 30-day internship, you will rotate across multiple departments, gaining exposure to different aspects of festival operations:

  1. Event Planning & Logistics: Learn how to plan and manage festival logistics, including venue setup, scheduling, and coordinating with suppliers. Assist with team roles and manage on-site activities.
  2. Film Programming & Curation: Help review and curate the short film submissions. Work closely with the selection team to shape the final film screening schedule, including special categories like environmental films.
  3. Marketing & Sponsorship Outreach: Assist with social media content creation, press releases, and digital promotion. Help manage outreach to potential sponsors and partners, and engage with media outlets for festival publicity.
  4. Guest Relations & Volunteer Coordination: Work on welcoming filmmakers, jury members, and special guests. Manage volunteer teams and assist with the organization of awards ceremonies, Q&A sessions, and networking events.
  5. Festival Event Execution: Support live screenings and ensure everything runs smoothly on the ground. Assist with managing the audience experience and event photography. Help with post-festival wrap-up tasks such as feedback collection and final reporting.

Eligibility

Prior experience is not required, but a passion for short films and festival culture is essential.

Open to students, graduates, and professionals from fields such as media, film, communications, or event management. Open to all nationalities.
